Thermal Duets (2019)

Performers Martina Conti and Alice Labant
Angela Woodhouse in collaboration with artist Caroline Broadhead explore notions of detail, image-making and identity through their development of Thermal Duets, a dance on screen project comprising of 5 short videos (each individually titled Shed, Shroud, Exchange, Spread, Stroke.) that manipulate thermal imaging technology. The purpose is to reveal an expanded body, and the potential of thermal imaging technology to develop a metaphoric language that exploits body heat. In this respect, there is a desire to extend the understanding and lexicon of dance work for the screen.
