Between is a performance inhabited by three performers and up to forty viewers that explores the tension between visual spectacle and the hunger for intimacy.
Performed in silence the piece continues with moments of visual spectacle set against intimate exchanges. The piece plays with polarised experiences in which attention is both directed and split. It explores the tensions between distance and actual contact, between frenetic and barely visible action, between roles and identities of spectator and participant.
“We never look at just one thing; we are always looking at the relation between things and ourselves. Our vision is continually moving, continually holding things in a circle around itself, constituting what is present to us as we are.” John Berger, Ways of Seeing
