Commissioned by Woking Dance Festival 2010 and performed by Henrietta Hale.
‘The themes inherent in Holzer’s work, in particular the notion of what is hidden, for example Purpose (Yellow, White), and the questions around secrecy and cover-up drew me to this commission. In my own work (and works in collaboration with Caroline Broadhead) I have been concerned with detail, subtlety, and an intimate relation with the audience. In this respect I deliberately restrain or hide’ movement to allow an encounter with what is not seen.’
The work is performed in silence and the running is time 20 minutes
The solo is made in response to the work of Jenny Holzer here on view and incorporates Blue Purple Tilt as part of the experience.
